Two Second Life Demos at FIT – Join Us!
Posted by bethrhu on December 3, 2007
Elaine Polvinen (Professor, Fashion Design at Buffalo State), Shenlei Winkler (fashion designer and entreprenuer) and Nyla (fashion designer and entrepreneur) will be joining us and talking to us about business, design and teaching in Second Life.
Elaine is my co-author on this blog and you can read her posts below — introducing herself and our speakers.
There are many useful links below — if you are in any doubt about the importance of Second Life, watch these two short videos from American Express that feature Nyla, one of our speakers.

Beth,
Great job of setting up the blog site to introduce Second Life to FIT. We need to create a support system to create and maintain future sites.
Lets talk
Thanks

What a terrific idea! It so important to get the word out to FIT about SL and especially the fashion design and marketing developments taking place there. The college is extremely fortunate that you have been willing take on such important tasks.

I am looking forward to the SL tour coming to FIT!
Students should learn to use Internet technologies constructively.
I introduced my students to SL last spring to make them aware of self-promotion and career opportunities in SL. I even taught myself how to make clothes for my avatar.
Thanks Beth for always exposing cutting edge educational technologies and renewing my interest in SL.
